Description

Rodríguez Sanzo · DO Toro

A blend of 85% Tinta de Toro and 15% Garnacha from the upper reaches of the Toro DO. It spends six to eight months in French oak barrels with internal incisions, which increase the contact surface and speed up the exchange with the wood. The Garnacha brings fruit and softens the whole.

The winery

Rodríguez Sanzo

Family winery founded in 2003 in Valladolid by Javier Rodríguez and María Sanzo. They work with four appellations in northern Spain (Rioja, Toro, Rueda and Ribera del Duero), each with its own signature grape. In 2022 they took over a historic winery in Toro, next to the Santo Domingo convent. They practise sustainable viticulture and, on some estates, biodynamics.
