Bodegas Nexus · DO Ribera del Duero

100% Tempranillo from vineyards in Pesquera de Duero and Piñel, planted on sandy-loam soils. It spends eight months in French Allier oak, enough to round it out while keeping it light and youthful. It is the most direct wine in the range, made from younger vines to prioritise freshness over concentration. 15% abv.

The winery

Bodegas Nexus

A winery in Pesquera de Duero, within the DO Ribera del Duero, active since 1999. It works its own Tempranillo vineyards on clay-loam, chalky soils with poor texture. The house separates its wines by vine age: young fruit for the fresher wines, old low-yielding vines for the more concentrated ones. Ageing is always in French Allier oak, so the fruit is never masked.

Appearance

Cherry red with a ruby rim.

Nose

Serving temperature

Serve between 15 and 17 °C. Best enjoyed young.
