Description

Cercavins · DO Costers del Segre

The 2008 vintage of Brú de Verdú, Cercavins’ aged red from the Vall del Riu Corb. A blend of Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo from the estate’s own vineyards. Controlled maceration and fermentation, then ageing in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels. Years in bottle have polished it further and absorbed the oak.

The winery

Cercavins

Winery founded in 2003 in Verdú (Urgell), within the Costers del Segre DO and the Vall del Riu Corb subzone. Three partners with a background in grape growing set it up, and today they farm around 90 hectares. The climate is arid, with little rain and a sharp swing between day and night temperatures that helps preserve aroma and acidity. Ageing is done in French, American and Hungarian oak.
