Description

Les Cousins · DOQ Priorat

Vi de Vila means that all the grapes come from plots within the Porrera municipality. The base is Carignan with a share of Grenache, from vines over seventy years old planted on llicorella slate on steep slopes. The two varieties are vinified separately and the wine spends twelve months in French oak barrels, followed by several years in bottle before release.

The winery

Les Cousins

Project of cousins Marc and Adrià Pérez, founded in 2007 in Porrera, in the DOQ Priorat. Both come from Mas Martinet and have worked in Bordeaux, the Rhône and South Africa. They work with the growers of the Porrera cooperative, using old Carignan and Grenache vines planted on llicorella slate. They set out to make fresher, less extracted wines than classic Priorat, meant to be drunk earlier and at a more moderate price.
