Description

Bodegas Viña Buena · DO Ribera del Duero

100% Tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero DO. It spends three to six months in 225-litre American and French oak barrels, enough for the wood to add structure without masking the fruit. The grapes come from the winery’s own vineyards, with old vines from the Aranda de Duero area.

The winery

Bodegas Viña Buena

Winery in Aranda de Duero (Burgos), founded in 1987 by a group of local growers. It farms more than 100 hectares of its own vineyards, with vines over 50 years old, and buys grapes from growers in the surrounding area. Its ageing cellars are spread across Aranda de Duero, Hontoria de Valdearados, Baños de Valdearados and Santa Cruz de la Salceda, with more than 1,200 225-litre barrels of American and French oak. It makes the whole Ribera del Duero DO range and also Verdejo in the Rueda DO.
