Description

Cellers Unió · DO Montsant

White Grenache and Macabeo from old, low-yielding vines, made at the Els Guiamets winery. Part of the wine ferments in 500-litre barrels for a touch of oak and the rest in stainless steel tanks. It then spends four months ageing on its lees with bâtonnage. Released in 2018 as the first white of the Perlat range.

The winery

Cellers Unió

Second-tier cooperative based in Reus, founded in 1942. It brings together agricultural cooperatives from across Catalonia, with more than 20,000 farming families and some 4,400 hectares of vineyards behind it. It makes its wines in its own cellars spread across Montsant, Priorat, Terra Alta, Tarragonès and the DO Catalunya. The wines of the Perlat range are made at the Els Guiamets winery, in southern Montsant, and are one of the appellation’s pioneering brands.
