The winery

Bodegas Estefanía (Tilenus)

Bodegas Estefanía was born in 1999, when the Frías family brought back an old dairy plant in the village of Dehesas, in Ponferrada (León). It farms around 40 hectares of old-vine Mencía and Godello in the Bierzo DO, on mineral and clay soils, in a valley with a continental climate and Atlantic influence. The winery was built with slate, stone and wood, as the local architecture dictates, and its ageing hall holds nearly a thousand French oak Bordeaux barrels.
